A hot mess and her new boots

A true girlie-girl, Alexis fell right in love with the boots I found for her at the consignment sale.  I tried them on her, and she actually cried big ole' crocodile tears when I tried to take them off.  Of course she had on a very springy outfit, so they looked so silly! I am looking forward to fall so she can wear all the great things we got at the sale!

A cubby once more!

Now that fall is fast approaching, Awana Cubbies has begun once more.  This year's first day went a lot differently than last year!!  Max marched in as if he owned the place!  I am so proud.  I hope he does as well with his verses this year!  He is required to add the book, chapter, and verse.  I think he will rise to the occasion!

In every man's life, a little tree must fall?

During one of NC's infamous thunderstorms, a tree fell and landed right on our roof.  Not only was no one injured (whew!), but there was also hardly any damage to the house.  Looked pretty bad, though, didn't it!?

Happy 4th!

This year for 4th of July, we went to my parents' house.  It was a ball.  I have to say my kiddos were cuties!  So were "The Abbys" even though I don't have any pics...

Beach Bums! Emerald Isle 2012

Thank you so much to Don & Jeanne Ferguson for a WONDERFUL beach trip.  We had a wonderful time digging in the sand, flying kites, swimming in the pool and going to the aquarium.  This trip was Alexis's first time at the beach.  I am pretty sure she is a natural beach bunny.  She loved the surf, sand and sun!  Her pink chair was better than any playpen!  She loved to sit in it on the deck of the beach house! Max really enjoyed the pool and fishin' with the guys.  He even caught some fish!  The beach house was lovely.  It really felt like a home away from home.  I also enjoyed making sure Jeanne got the "manly" coffee cup as she called it!  The only downside was the forest fires close by that darkened the sky.  Other than that, the weather was perfect, as was the company! (Including ALL of Max's and Alexis's Ferguson/Dillman cousins!)
