Merry Christmas!

Christmas was so joyful this year!  I had a hard time sleeping because I couldn't wait to see how the kids would react to their gifts!  I actually got nervous that I had gotten the wrong things!  Darrell's parents and aunt came over first thing in the morning.  The adults were all ready and waiting for the kids to climb out of bed.  Max seemed overwhelmed at first, but once he let Christmas morning soak in, he was an old pro.  Alexis only sort of got the hang of it.  She had a lot of help opening her gifts.  The pizza kitchen is a definite hit!  Max cooked pretend pizzas all day!  He also adores the metal detector he got.  Mommy and Daddy aren't the biggest fans.  It beeps like an alarm clock!  Alexis loves the owl chair that is just her size! (I am a bit jealous myself!)  Her favorite gift seems to be the stroller, bed and doll set.  She does a great job feeding, rocking and walking her baby around!  I really loved watching them play all day.  Darrell got a waffle maker and made everyone waffles for lunch.  We cooked the turkey breast in my new Kitchen Aid toaster oven!  It was fantastic!  Darrell also surprised me with a Dooney and Bourke purse!!  I am so blessed and in love with my little family.  Just think...Next year our 3rd little one will be here to enjoy the day with us!

Christmas Eve

Trying to take a picture of 2 excited children is like trying to take a picture of lightning bolt.  I was not able to get a really good picture, but you get the idea!

Over the river and through the woods...or just down the street...To Grandmother's house we go

Christmas with Grandaddy and Grandmother was a blast as usual!  We enjoyed spending time together, having a delicious meal, and opening some nice gifts.  Alexis loves the backpack her cousin Emily gave her!  Max's favorite this year is the take-apart CAT truck from Grandaddy and Grandmother.  He slept with it that night.  He even came into our room around 2am to announce he had found the screws he had lost.  I did not share his excitement.

Angel Choir, Dec 19

Max's preschool had a play on the last day of school before Christmas break.  This would be the first time I left my camera at home.  I usually keep it tucked in my purse in case of a great photo op.  Thanks to my friend, Emily, I was able to get a couple of pics.  Max did a great job not singing.  He stood quietly in the front row.  At least he stayed with his class.  He did enjoy the playing the maracas.  Alexis was star struck when she saw her "Bubba" on stage!  She gasped with excitement!

Sick Day Snuggles, December 13

I do hate it when my kids don't feel well, but they did snuggle together nicely because of it!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!

We got our tree decorated just after turkey day this year. Max helped decorate it while our Alexis napped. (we were all safer that way!) She loves the tree. If it is not on, she will exclaim "Tee On!" That goes for my Grammie's ceramic tree as well! We give the kids new ornaments each year, too. Alexis got a rubber ducky ornament because she LOVES bubble baths and asks for a bath after every meal. Max got an airplane ornament because he has been to see a lot of planes this year with his Daddy!

November, Thanksgiving

Here's a summary of November this year:  Max got a new hat, which is tooo cute.  I made Alexis a turkey hairbow.  That was really fun!    We headed to Great Gran's for Thanksgiving as per usual.  It was a lovely day.  The kids enjoyed playing with their cousins!  Max's preschool class pet Margalo was also here for a fantastic visit.  I was so proud of the picture he drew of her.  He even wrote her name!

Pumpkins and Trick-O-Treat!

Halloween was fun this year.  Max decided he wanted to be a stoplight.  Darrell really did a great job figuring that one out.  His costume was made of a cardboard box, the tops of Gatorade bottles, tap lights, tissue paper and a lot of spray paint.  He looked amazing!  Alexis was a pumpkin princess,  and all the neighbors tried to keep her!  Darrell and Max had fun carving pumpkins, too.  We had a kitty and a pirate ship.

One silly and cute boy, Oct24

Max is so stinking cute in hats!  He decided I need to take his picture - a lot - wearing his hat!

Somebody's going to be a great mama! Oct 24

Alexis is really starting to love caring for her dolls and stuffed animals.  She spent over 10 minutes diapering and wiping her bunny!  It was so sweet.  Guess we have some ideas for Christmas...

We have a climber Oct 3

Alexis is growing up so fast. She has figured out how to climb up into the chair in our living room!  It is fun to watch her figure it out!
