Riley has PDS...

Pea Distress Syndrome.  Yet another little Ferguson is rejecting baby food peas!  I might be a mean mama for saying so, but, I think their yucky faces are so funny!  I gave him another bite to be sure and get a picture of it!

...and Now. First glimpse of Max in Kindergarten!

Here's my big boy on his first day!  I can't believe he actually allowed me to take pictures.  I am so proud of him!  He marched right in his class, put his things in a cubbie, and went to sit down and color.  The first thing he colored in school?  A picture of his dog, Maizy!  He told me he was ready for me to go and gave me a kiss.  When I arrived to pick him up, he emerged from his class quite happy.  He lingered to speak to one of his new classmates.  His teacher said he did great!  She even gave him a hug and kiss on the top of his head.  He did say he didn't have enough time at lunch to eat his special surprise...a cookie.  He also forgot to bring his lunchbox home.   I am sure he will get it all figured out.  All in all, I believe I will declare his first day success!

My little guy is going to Kindergarten

In a blink they grow up.  I remember when he took his first breath.  I remember naming him (eventually!).  I remember his first steps.  I remember his first skinned knee.  All these things happened yesterday.  Or so it seems.  My first born, the one who made me a mother, Maxwell David Ferguson is in school.   Where did the past five years go?  I find myself questioning everything I have done as a mother up to this point.  Was it enough to prepare him for this day?  Will he rise to the occasion?  Will he be the respectful little gentleman he should be?  Will he have fun?  Will he find the cookie in his lunch box?  Will his teacher read the little note I wrote him so he knows I am thinking of him today?  Does he feel my love?  I*MISS*HIM*  Here is my fella before he became a big Kindergartener!

Some more little firsts for Riley!

I bought Riley a new sippy cup and let him give it a try July 23rd.  He had a pretty hard time with it, so I decided we'd try again another day.  I also put him in his room for his first nap July 24th.  I haven't blogged about his nursery yet, because we have not finished it quite yet.  He slept up there about an hour!  I am looking forward to him moving in permanently. I am hoping he will be more comfortable in the crib, so he will start sleeping through the night.  Stay tuned for pictures of his airplane themed nursery!!

First steps to becoming a gentleman

On our shopping date for school supplies, we needed to make a quick pit stop at the gas station.  Since I only had Max with me, I decided to teach him how to pump the gas.  I think he was really proud of his new responsibility.

My sweet 2 year old girl

Alexis is such a funny little girl.  She has such a sweet servant's heart.  She loves to help out and to make sure everyone is ok.  She has to give everyone a kissy every night before bed.  She loves Charlie and Lola even more than Max did.  She gave her paci up a couple of months ago.  Now she loves Winnie, a little lamb blankie Grandmother and Granddaddy got her for her birthday.  Her hair is finally long enough to play with.  She actually sat still long enough for me to braid her hair!  One night at dinner, she refused to eat the sliced cucumbers I gave her.  She then proceeded to eat a whole cucumber saying it was yummy.  She also put her shirt on all by herself.  It just so happened to be on the wrong half of her body...but it was on! What is silly girl!

Staycation July 2013

With Max's first day of kindergarten fast approaching, Darrell took a few much needed days off of work spend with us.  While he was off, he didn't do any house or yard work.  We really loved having him around!  Some highlights were the pool and Millbrook Exchange Park's splash park and wading pool.  Riley has really gotten the hang of the pool and now seems to enjoy it.  Alexis loves the water, but seems to get bored of it before anyone else.  Max is starting to acquire a taste for swimming.  I think we are way overdue for swimming lessons!
